Creating a future where LGBTIQA+SB suicide prevention is a national priority

Our LGBTIQA+SB communities know too well what it is like to have a lived experience of suicide.

Systemic discrimination, social stigma, pathologisation and isolation continue to impact the wellbeing of LGBTIQA+SB people across the country. We are more likely to experience suicidal distress than non-LGBTIQA people and in our communities we bare the grief of too many LGBTIQA+SB lives that have ended in suicide.

We deserve better.

We need:

1. Recognition

of LGBTIQA+SB experiences of suicide and the unique wisdom LGBTIQA+SB communities hold in responding to suicide

2. Community Leadership

across all levels of our healthcare system to make sure LGBTIQA+SB people are included, supported and considered in suicide prevention services

3. Funding

for LGBTIQA+SB peer-led and life-affirming services

If we change the landscape, we will change lives.
